Kelowna Scotch and Fine Spirits Society is ten! Or it will be at the end of this season. Thinking back to our first tasting in August 2015, we racked our brains to find something thematically appropriate. Ten isn’t a very celebrated number in Scotch whisky, but then Christine asked the question, “What’s the tenth Scotch Malt Whisky Society distillery?” and with the answer being Bunnahabhain and having never done a Bunnahabhain tasting, the answer was obvious. Join us for an evening of all things “Bunn-na-ha-venn” (the mouth of the river), the most remote distillery on the island of Islay. Bunnahabhain only distills peated whisky 40% of the time, so we felt it made sense to put together a really balanced tasting. We’ve got ex-bourbon casks, sherry casks, distillery releases, independent bottlers, half smoky, half unpeated. All in all, a little something for everyone to like about this fantastic distillery.
