Hey guys. So there’s been some interest in the leftover bottles from last night’s tasting. Namely, the Nikka (#1), Glentauchers (#2), and especially the Kilchoman (#4) in the lineup. Andrew said he had about 8 left of the Kilchoman in stock. As a society, he’ll give us a 5% discount which covers the tax. He also mentioned he’d “devise a way to send it to us” ; ). I don’t want to be a middle man, so if you’re interested visit www.kensingtonwinemarket.com,
and mention you’re with the Society or mention my name, Claude. They’ll put all the bottles together with my next order. The two remaining bottle if anyone is interested are the Glendornach (#3) and Benriach (#5), both around $110.

In the future, we’ll try to balance our lineup between locally available scotches and specialty bottles. I’m working with a local retailer to stock the bottles we’ll be tasting and workout a member discount, as well as educating the sellers. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a descent scotch selection in Kelowna instead of the usual Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, and with a knowledgeable staff?

Finally, some ideas we’re proposing with leftover bottles, is to sell 100ml samples and/or make our own mini advent scotch calendars for Xmas with sample size bottles. Thoughts? Interest?
This will give more members a chance to revisit their favorite scotches! By the way, we’re already looking at bottles for our next tasting, stay tuned!

Cheers,
Claude
